Imminence for death does not warrant a change in the level of care. In this presentation we will break down the four hospice levels of care. What constitutes a change in the level of care and the process involved? The who, what, when, and how of the regulations, and necessary documentation required will be outlined step by step. A focus on general inpatient and continuous care will be presented to help agencies understand the process they must follow. The intent is to help hospice providers avoid Medicare downcoding and claim adjustments to RHC should a provider undergo Medical Audit Review, including understanding the proper use of GIP and CHC.
