With
more than 20 years’ experience in hospice clinical pharmacy services and as the
CEO of Delta Care Rx, Dr. Mary Mihalyo has revolutionized the provision of quality,
effective, competitively priced pharmacotherapy solutions to hospice and palliative
care patients.
She
also has helped educate and train a generation of pharmacists, having served since
1998 as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at her alma mater, the Duquesne
University School of Pharmacy. As an assistant professor of pharmacy, she
participates in both didactic and experiential teaching with a focus on pain management
and hospice and palliative care.
A
pioneer in medication therapy management services for hospice providers, Dr. Mihalyo
helped to found Delta Care Rx in 2012 to work exclusively with hospice and palliative
care providers. She has built a corporate culture at Delta Care Rx focused on
transparency, excellence, patient-centered quality care, education and support for
hospice clinicians, and unyielding customer service. Her motivation in forming Delta
Care was to create an advocate for pharmacist support for hospice clinicians at
the bedside while ensuring sustainable relationships between local hospice providers
and community-based pharmacies.
Dr.
Mihalyo received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the
Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy

care conferences, often advocating for the vital role of clinical pharmacists
working collaboratively with hospice and palliative care clinicians to ensure
quality, effective pharmacotherapy interventions at the bedside. Dr. Mihalyo
