Biography
Dr. Mueggenburg has been involved with hospice and palliative care
for over 35 years. She began as a volunteer, then as a nurse, then nursing
faculty, and now teaching and volunteering. Currently Kay is an associate
professor with Goldfard School of Nursing with Barnes Jewish College on the
Washington University Medical Campus in St. Louis. Kay is actively involved
with NHPCO, HPNA, AAHPM, ELNEC, and is working with the provisional group to begin
an HPNA Chapter in the St. Louis region.
She has completed the Palliative Care Education Fellowship with
Harvard Medical School to complete the certification process for a Hospice and
Palliative Medicine Fellowship program with AAHPM, ACGME, and C-TAC. Kay received
her RN from Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, her BSN with McKendree University, an
MSN at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and her PhD in Higher
Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She holds certification
as a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse. Kay attends and often presents at
local, state, and national conferences.

Washing for Hospice Volunteers. This webinar has been viewed 1000s of times
by our customers and provides valuable knowledge to both hospice staff and
volunteers.
