A series of four webinars!

The changes to the Home Health Conditions of Participation (CoPs) are significant! Implementation was January 13, 2018, but it will take a long time for agencies to understand, implement, train, and comply with these complex and difficult-to-understand regulations. Surveyors who are surveying to the Conditions and Standards in the new CoPs, and many agencies, are finding they have not fully implemented the CoPs. Now is a perfect time to get intensive training that will guide you toward compliance. Final interpretive guidelines, the final rule responses, and what has been cited at agencies so far will be areas addressed in this series.

You may register for the entire series or individual sessions.

Conditions of Participation Series Topics

Session Dates & Descriptions

Thursday, March 21, 2019
Overview & Patient Rights

This session will review the major changes in the Home Health Conditions of Participation. The entire philosophy has changed, effectively putting the patient in an active, rather than a passive, role. Having patient-centered CoPs requires the clinician and home health agency to understand and comply during the entire home health admission, not just at the beginning. Join this webinar to learn more about the changes, the Patient Rights Condition, documentation, and administration and personnel Conditions.

Infection Control & QAPI

Having an agency-wide quality improvement program has always been important, but now with a Condition on QAPI (Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement), it is mandatory for agencies to comply. Infection control is a very important and vulnerable area for home health agencies. The integration in the QAPI program will be addressed. Compliance often comes down to understanding what needs to be done and how. Having a great quality program will lessen agency problems, maintain compliance, and lead to success! Examples of audit tools and quality indicators will be provided.

Emergency Preparedness, Compliance & Clinical Records

Emergency preparedness, compliance, and clinical records are three critical components of the new Home Health Conditions. This easy-to-follow presentation will set your agency up for success!

  • Emergency preparedness (EP) ensures your agency, staff, and patients remain prepared and safe during emergencies and disasters. The presenter will provide a real understanding of what needs to be done and documented to comply.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations is required. Recent revisions primarily affect labs and CLIA waiver, which will be reviewed.
  • The clinical records Condition includes very important timeframes and other compliance issues, such as timing documents in clinical records.
